Q.1 How to become a Member of IOD ?

Ans. Procedure to become a Member of IOD.

1. Fill up online Membership Form Click Here, enclose a CV/Company Profile and pay the Entrance Fee.

2. Your CV/ profile will be reviewed by the Membership Committee to decide the eligibility and category (Associate Member, Member and Fellow).

3. Once membership application is approved by the Committee, applicant is required to submit the Membership Fee.

Q.2 What are the different Types of Membership IOD Offers ?

Q.3 What are the different categories of Membership IOD Offers ?

Ans. - The IOD offers three categories of Individual Membership. The following guidelines will help you in completing Membership application form.

Associate Member: To become an Associate Member, the applicant must be over 21 years of age, qualified as a graduate or equivalent, and should have reached the position of senior management.
Member: To Qualify as Member, in addition to the requirements for an "Associate Member", the applicant should be holding a responsible position in business, industry or government including equivalent to a Director, for at least 3 years and should preferably have a DIN number.
Fellow: To be elected as a Fellow, you must satisfy certain additional requirements, as under:
* Should be a Director of a listed company at the time of applying for fellowship.
* Have ten years of business experience.
* Have been a Director of a listed Company for a minimum period of three years.

Q.4 How can I upgrade my Membership?

Ans. You need to send us your updated CV. The Membership Committee will then take a decision on the eligibility.

Q.5 How can I convert my Annual Membership to 'Life Membership' ?

Ans. You need to visit our website, check the fees for 'Life Member' and make the payment accordingly.

Q.6 Can we get an individual Membership on the name of "Designation" as we have Directors that keep changing ?

Ans. No, Indivudual Membership can only be on the name of an individual.

Q.7 Can a foreign national or a NRI become a Member of IOD ?

Ans. Yes, they may become a Member, subject to Membership committee's approval.

Q.8 Will I get a renewal notice for my Membership ?

Ans. Yes, you will get a renewal reminder.

Q.9 Will I get a receipt/invoice for the payment made for Membership (cheque/ online by credit card) ?

Ans. Yes, You will get a confirmation mail from IOD along with the receipt.

Q.11 I am a practicing Cost & management accountant/Company Secretary/Chartered Accountant. Am I eligible to be a Member of IOD ?

Ans. You need to fill the Membership form and send it along with your CV and the fees. It is then scrutinised by IOD's Membership committee. For more,details Click Here

Q.12 I am already an existing Member. Would I get a complimentary Membership of one year, as Non- Members get, on doing 'Masterclass for Directors' ?

Ans. A one-year complimentary membership is offered to members who do not use their existing Member discount (15%) to attend a Masterclass.

Q.13 I am undergraduate, but Director of my own company. Can I apply for IOD, India Membership ?

Ans. You may apply for the Membership. However, your profile will be scrutinized by the IOD Membership Committee to be accepted.

Q.14 Can I transfer my Membership to another fellow colleague, or relation as I will be shifting my base to USA. Is Membership refundable ?

Ans. The Individual Membership is Non – Transferable and Non – Refundable

Q.15 Does IOD offer any discount if a group of senior officers is interested in IOD Membership ?

Ans. If the group of senior officers is interested in Membership are from same organization, we recommend Institutional Membership, which entitles the organization/institution to nominate up to 4 senior executives, as IOD member.

Q.16 I moved - how can I update my mailing address?

Ans. You can email to member@iodglobal.com with your Membership number and changes to update your address.

Q.18 I forgot my Membership No, what do I need to do?

Q.19 What is the difference between Life Member and Fellow Life and what extra benefit I will get as a fellow life?

Ans. Being promoted to a higher category will not only increase your profile visibility, but will also put you in a more prestigious position in the business community.

Q.20 Through IOD Directors Databank how many IOD Members get the Independent Directorship opportunities?

Ans. Please note that we actively forward details though the IOD Directors Databank to corporate both listed and non-listed. IOD Directors Databank empanelment portal acts as only an interface between corporate and IOD for sharing suitable profiles. These placements need a lot many traits, outside the domain of the Masterclass. We are acting as facilitators and focused on preparing more number of Board ready professionals.

Q.21 IOD, India and IOD, London are the same?

Ans. The IOD in India and IOD in London are different.
