M. Nagaraju is an IAS officer belonging to Tripura cadre. After graduating in Economics and having completed his post-graduation in Philosophy from the University of Hyderabad, he joined the IAS in 1993.

He has served at Local, State, National and International level in various capacities for over a period of 30 years. In the State Government, he served as District Magistrate, Director of Tribal Welfare, Secretary / Principal Secretary of Health, Finance and Industries & Commerce departments and was deeply involved in tribal development work and rehabilitation of surrendered militants.

During the period of 2004-08, he served in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs as Director Japan / North America and Director in the World Bank Division. During period he was in charge of bilateral economic relations, he commenced feasibility studies for Delhi-Kolkata freight corridor, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and was in charge of financing large projects like Delhi Metro, Bengaluru Metro and Chennai Metro (etc.) from JICA. He was also in charge of India- US Financial and Economic Forum and India-US CEO Forum.

Thereafter, he worked as Advisor to the Executive Director at the World Bank, Washington DC till 2012 and contributed actively in Bank's response to 2008 financial crisis, food crisis and fuel crisis and also the sanctioning of huge development assistance to India during 2008-12. He was also closely involved in G-20, G-24 and G- 11 discussions articulating India's interests and positions.

As Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal from 30th January, 2020 he had opened up coal sector for commercial mining in the country, transforming India from coal deficit to coal surplus country.

He has served on the on the Boards of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Northern Coal Fields, NLCIL and Coal India.

He was appointed as Secretary Financial Services on 19 August, 2024.

Mr. Chanchal Kumar is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1992 batch from the Bihar cadre and currently serves as the Secretary, Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region, Government of India. He holds a B.Tech (1990) and an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur. He also holds a Master's degree in International Development Policy from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Economics.

Mr. Kumar has held several key positions in the Government of Bihar, including District Magistrate of Kaimur, Bokaro, East Champaran, and Nalanda. He has served as Secretary of the Art, Culture and Youth Department; Principal Secretary of the Building Construction Department; Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department; and Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office, Bihar.

At the national level, he has previously served in the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Prior to his current role, he was the Managing Director of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., New Delhi.

Mr. Nadir B. Godrej is the Chairperson of Godrej MIndustries Group; Chairperson and Managing Director of Godrej Industries Limited and Chairman of Godrej Agrovet Ltd. He is also the Co-Chair of Godrej Good & Green Governing Council. Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari was born in 1948 in India. He graduated with Honours from Loyola College Madras, where he was the Student Union President. In 1976; He came to Dubai and formed the Al Dobowi Group. The group today is the leading management services provider in the UAE and has grown to have over 1500 employees and have a significant presence in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Ghana, Europe and Canada. He is a vivid golfer and is a founder member of the Emirates Golf Club, where he was until recently the Club Captain. He is also a founding member of the World Trade Centre Club, on the Board of the Governors of the Indian Sports Club and the Vice President of the Auto Parts Merchants Group. Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the ADGM Registration Authority (RA) in January 2023. Hon'ble Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi is the Chairman of the Law Commission of India. He was the former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. She has an outstanding track record of immense contribution of around four decades in the Pharmaceutical industry. She has been instrumental in launching highly successful niche and innovative products with several patents on new drug delivery systems and presentation forms. She has played a pivotal role in promoting industry-academia interface and capacity building in pharmacovigilance and emerging areas in manufacturing, technology and drug development in India. Under her stewardship, the Group developed a unique one-window national distribution pharmaceutical network of global standards, thereby improving availability and access of drugs nationwide.

Dr. Anup Wadhawan, IAS (Retd.) is an economic and public policy professional with 40 years work experience in various sectors, including the civil service, regulation, academics, private sector, and international development. He spent 36 years in the Indian Administrative Service and served as India's Commerce Secretary for 3 years. During this tenure, he managed India's Foreign Trade Policy, negotiated bilateral, regional and multilateral trade deals, and implemented measures to promote exports and create an investor-friendly environment. He was also responsible for policymaking and oversight in banking, insurance, the national pension system, and capital markets. He played a significant role in framing of the Insurance Laws Amendment Act 2015, which reformed the Indian insurance sector, raised the foreign investment cap, and allowed foreign reinsurers and Lloyds to operate in India. He also oversaw the management of the National Pension System corpus as PFRDA chair, coordinated capital markets policy and regulation with the Securities and Exchange Board and the Reserve Bank of India, promoted foreign portfolio and direct investment flows, and coordinated matters related to the Financial Stability Board, Financial Stability and Development Council, and Financial Action Task Force. During his tenure at the Prime Minister's office, he provided inputs on macroeconomic and sectoral policy reforms in areas like regulation, PPPs, fiscal management, and the power sector.

During his long and distinguished career, Mr. Munjee has been at the helm of creating and building of some of India's foremost financial institutions which stems from his abiding interest in the problems of development in an emerging economy. After being educated in the UK and the US, he began his career with the creation of the first mortgage company in India - the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) - with which he was associated for twenty years, rising to be its Director. At the request of the Chairman of HDFC, he was asked to create a new institution on the lines of HDFC, for infrastructure finance as mortgage finance had come to be well established and the country needed huge investments in infrastructure. He created the Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC) in joint partnership with government and both domestic and international institutions.

After spearheading IDFC for several years, Mr. Munjee today uses his countless years of experience in a number of different activities as advisor or non-executive director. He is presently on the Board of several public companies in India, a few internationally and is involved with other institutions as chairman, member of the board, or as a trustee.

As Director, Foreign Investment Promotion Board in the Union Department of Industrial Policy, he was closely associated with the liberalization of foreign direct investment policy and industrial policy reforms. As Chairperson, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, he is credited with bringing many critical medicines, including vital medical devices under price control, to make essential medicines more affordable to the common man. As Director General Sports Authority of India, he developed the ‘National Sports Development Code’, and conducted South Asian Games-2016 and formulated the ‘Khelo India Scheme’, a novel initiative.

As Union Secretary, Corporate Affairs, he played a key role in the implementation of several major economic reforms & laws, including the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, which has deeply impacted the borrowing culture in the country and helped banks effectively tackle the problem of non-performing assets. Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta is an AGMUT (erstwhile J&K) cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Services. He has vast administrative experience in both, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Government of India, where he has displayed an extraordinary acumen as a leader.

He is currently the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Prabh Das has been single-handedly instrumental in establishing HMEL since its inception, including the formation of the pioneering public-private joint venture. He formally joined HMEL in 2008, and has been instrumental in setting up of the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery project, and its successful operations thereafter. He possesses vast and wide-ranging experience in administration and modern management, having served in the Indian Administrative Services for over 25 years. He is responsible for leading and managing HMEL and its subsidiaries as Managing Director and CEO.

Prior to joining HMEL, Mr. Das served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas from 2003 to 2008, where he was in-charge of the Refineries Division, and was instrumental in implementing the ‘Auto Fuel’ policy, strategic storage and new initiatives in Oil Diplomacy. He led the transformation of the domestic refining sector which included strengthening refining capacities, improving refining operations, safety aspects and introduction of new technologies.

Vice Admiral Narayan Prasad, AVSM, NM IN (Retd.) is the CMD of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd., aptly called “Ship Builder to the Nation”, since 2019. It is one of India’s leading Defence public sector undertaking shipyard under the Indian Ministry of Defence, manufacturing warships and submarines for the Indian Navy, and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling.

Under his able leadership, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has constructed and delivered a number of state-of-the-art ships, equipped with latest systems and weapons, which have accomplished the dual feat of contributing to strengthening maritime security & protecting national interests. As well as, a symbol of India’s growing maritime prowess and a major milestone in achieving Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.

Mr. Peter Ong Boon Kwee plays a key role in steering Enterprise Singapore's efforts to grow stronger Singapore enterprises. He is closely associated with the Board of Directors and executive management team in providing support to Singapore companies looking to build new capabilities and internationalize.

In 2018, Mr. Ong was also appointed Senior Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he provides on economic strategy and policies, as well as champion efforts to enable robust enterprise growth.

He retired from the Administrative Service in 2018. Prior to his retirement, Mr. One was Head of Civil Service,  a position he held since 2010. Helen Brand is Chief Executive of ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, a post she has held since 2008, with great distinction.

He was Director of the Financial Services Authority, where he carried out a review for the Ministry of Justice of the regulatory framework for legal services in England and Wales, reporting to the Lord Chancellor in 2004. In 2015, he was asked by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport to review the governance and regulatory arrangements for the BBC.

In addition to his stewardship of the BBC, Sir David is Chairman of King's Cross Central Partnership – regenerating the area around King's Cross in one of London's largest redevelopment projects.

He graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He is a Chartered Accountant, and then spent two years at Harvard Business School where he obtained an MBA. Mr. Shanker is Chairman and MD (CMD) of 'Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and also the Chairman of ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and Joint venture companies namely Mangalore SEZ Limited(MSEZ), ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited(OTPC), ONGC Petro-additions Limited(OPaL), ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited(OMPL) and Member Director in the Board of Petronet LNG Limited(PLL). He is a Petroleum Engineer from Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad and holds an MBA degree. He has studied Executive Education from IIM-Lucknow and ISB-Hyderabad. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Jayant M. Patel, born on 04.08.1956 at Veraval, Gujarat, passed B.Com. and LL.B. He had a first class educational career and was also awarded National Merit Scholarship, while studying LL.B.

He entered Bar in August, 1979, Rajkot, and shifted to Gujarat High Court in 1985.

He was appointed as Central Govt. Standing Counsel, Senior Counsel to Railways, Govt. of India, Counsel for the Income Tax Department and Standing Counsel for SAFEMA (Ministry of Finance), Govt. of India.

He studied the working in the system of administration of justice in various countries and visited High Courts and Supreme Courts in USA, England, France, Singapore, Germany and Canada etc.,

He was elevated as Judge in the High Court of Gujarat in 2001 and was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Gujarat in 2015. Later, he was Sworn-in as Judge of Karnataka High Court, Bengaluru in 2016.

He was appointed as Executive Chairman of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority. He was also the President of Arbitration Law Centre, Bengaluru, Executive Chairman, Indian Law Institute, Karnataka and appointed as Executive Chairperson of Regional Office of International Centre For Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR) with effect from 20.06.2017.

He laid down the Office on 25.09.2017.

Mr. Alok Sharma MP, Hon'ble Minister of State for Housing and Planning, Dept. for Communities and Local Government, Govt. of U.K. grew up in Earley and went to school in Reading.

He has worked with local campaign groups to fight unsustainable development on green spaces He is committed to campaigning against any unsustainable development all across Reading.

He is a supporter of expanding local businesses. He has supported entities such as Tesco Distribution Centre to deliver new jobs and has organised local business export seminars, helped deliver reductions in business rates for local businesses and for faster broadband.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem has played a key role in positioning DMCC as a major international commodities hub and introduced a number of value-added products and services - DMCC Free Zone - the UAE's largest Free Zone, the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), the only diamond exchange in the Middle East, the DMCC Tea Centre which has contributed to the UAE becoming the world's largest re-exporter of tea, DMCC Trade flow, a central Registry of ownership for commodities stored in Dubai, stimulating commodity trade, as well as gold refineries, gold and diamond vaults, the UAE gold bullion coins and the Visions of Dubai Gold Souvenir Coins.

He joined DMCC in 2001 as a Director. Today, he is the Executive Chairman as well as the Director of Human Resources, Director of Dubai Shariah Asset Management (DSAM) and Dubai Commodity Asset Management (DCAM). He has played a leading role in reviving Dubai's traditional pearls industry by launching the Dubai Pearl Exchange and conceptualized the idea behind Almas Tower, the tallest commercial building in the Middle East.

His extensive knowledge of the diamond trade also led to his appointment as global Kimberley Process Chair on behalf of the UAE. He has travelled to 20 countries, before contributing to the draft resolution on "The Role of Diamonds in Fuelling Conflict" at the UN General Assembly.

He continues to play a leading role in positioning DMCC as a major international commodities hub for trade & has built the world's largest Free Zone; ensuring the UAE has 60 percent market share of global tea re-exports. He has helped establish Dubai as the world leader in gold, diamonds trade.

Dr. Aruna Sharma is a graduate in Science and holds a Ph.D in Development Economics. During her brilliant career in the lAS, she has specialized in the fields of Finance, Industrial Promotion, Communications & I.T. Her work on 'Resource Convergence' has been published by UNDP.

Before joining the Ministry of Steel, she was Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, where her major contribution was the development of GeM Portal and NSP Scholarship Portal of 16 Departments and 38 schemes of the Govt of India.

She has received numerous distinctions and Awards in her career including National Award for e-Governance, 2015-16 (Silver Award); Mahatma Gandhi NREGA for Rural Development; and Integrated Water Shed Management Programme Award for BestPractices.

He was: Chairperson of Committee on Agriculture, FAO, Chairperson of Evaluation Committee, IFAD, Member of Executive Board, IFAD, Rome. He also represented India at the World Food Summit. He has served as Head of the National Horticulture Mission in India. As Chairman BWSSB, Bangalore, he negotiated a World Bank loan of US$ 800 million for water supply. As Secretary Environment, Karnataka. 

He was responsible for implementation of measures for Sustainable Development in accordance with Agenda 21. A brilliant scholar, he is PhD in Food Security and has a Diploma (ClAP) from Ecole Nationale d' administration (ENA) Paris, France in Public Finance. Ashish K. Chauhan is the MD & CEO of BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), and was one of the founders of India's National Stock Exchange ("NSE"). He is best known as the 'father of modern financial derivatives' in India, for his work at NSE. He has been instrumental in setting up India's first fully automated screen based trading system, first commercial satellite communications network, and has recently successfully completed the IPO of BSE.

He was appointed as CEO, BSE in 2012. He is credited with reviving BSE, including making it the fastest Exchange in the World, and introduction of Mobile Trading, online real time surveillance system, and introduction of several market leading products. He was also instrumental in setting up First "India International Exchange".

He has won several International and National awards, including: Distinguished Alumnus Award -11M Calcutta, CEO of the Year; Diamond Sabre Awards 2015, Hong Kong; Indian Business Leader of the Year, Switzerland 2015. He holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from liT Bombay, and a PGDM from 11M Kolkata. He is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Ryerson University, Canada. Lieutenant General Sunil Kumar Gadeock, AVSM was commissioned into the Brigade of the Guards, Indian Army on 11 June, 1977. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He is Master of Science (Defence Studies), Master of Philosophy and also Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management.

During his distinguished career in the Army, he has held command, staff and instructional appointments, which included command of 12 GUARDS and Commander 23 (I) Armoured Brigade. He was selected for a three year Staff tenure as Logistics Advisor to Botswana Defence Force. He had the distinction to raise Military Operations 3B, Military Operations Directorate in Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army). He served in two armoured divisions in coveted appointments. He served as Brigadier Quartermaster (Brig Q), in a Corps HQ in North Eastern Sector. He was the youngest Aide to the President of India, having served two Presidents. He was the Adjutant of the National Defence Academy, Pune.

He began his career in TV news broadcast with NDTV 24 X 7 in 1995, where he anchored daily newscasts and set new standards in political reporting, where he did reporting for News Tonight, a programme telecast on DD Metro.

He hosts the popular Newshour show every weeknight. Newshour was seen as the agenda setting show on the channel, the longest running news analysis shown on any channel (1998-2003).

As a Senior Editor with NDTV 24 X 7, he was responsible for the overall editorial content. After doing several district - level assignments in Bihar, he has spent several years in different Departments covering almost all areas of work in both State Government and the Government of India. He was Adviser (Jute & Coir) at India Trade Centre, Brussels during 1983-85 as well as a year with the World Health Organization in Delhi as Adviser in 2003-2004. Mr. Tripathi is an officer belonging to the Indian Administrative Service. He did his post graduation in Physics from the University of Allahabad. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

He has an experience of 35 years in the Public Administration. He has held important positions in Government of India in various Ministries/Departments like Rural Development, Steel & Mines, Tourism, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Public Enterprises etc. He has also served as Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission, which is the premier Integrity Institution of the country.

While posted in the North Eastern State of Assam, he served in different capacities in Departments of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Personnel and General Administration, Home & Political, Industries, etc. In addition, in the field he functioned as Assistant Commissioner, Sub Divisional Officer, Project Director of District Rural Development Agency and Deputy Commissioner.

He is currently Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He is the author of a revised plan for formulation and implementation of policies and projects in upstream, midstream and downstream activities in the entire Petroleum sector.

Mr. Rajeev Kumar Jain is a fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of India, Company Secretaries of India, Cost Accountants of India, and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Management from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In short, Sri Jain is an Institution by himself.

Sri Jain started his career as a Management trainee in M P Birla group and progressed rapidly to become President of its Telecom manufacturing company in a short span of 8 years. He was almost declared under-age at 30. As the youngest President of the Board. With vast experience, he has worked in Steel, telecom and aluminum sectors. In telecom sector, he led his company to achieve best profitability in the entire industry. His expertise lies in general management, driving operational efficiency, cost reduction and solving compile issues.

He had an extremely challenging stint with Vedanta Group. He joined the Organization as CFO of Bharat Aluminum Company and was promoted as CFO of entire Aluminum business. He was the key driver of the two billion dollar aluminum manufacturing capacity expansion project and alumina production project.

At present, Sri Jain is working as Chief Executive Officer of Mumbai International Airport where he joined when the airport was privatized and handed over to GVK consortium. Mr. Jain spearheaded implementation of expansion project. It was under his dynamic leadership that the new iconic terminal was successfully ope-rationalized in 2014. Dr. S. K. Nanda is a civil servant of Gujarat Cadre. A post graduate in Political Science, he holds a Doctorate in Philosophy, and in Economics, in addition to being a post graduate in Law – in short, a scholar of rare learning.

His stints as Collector in districts of Dangs, Vadodara, Panchmahals, Banaskantha and Junagadh are notable for his achievements. As Guardian Secretary of Dangs district, a remote and backward tribal area, he transformed it to become the horticulture and vegetable belt for the urban markets of Gujarat. In the aftermath of the calamitous earthquake in the state in 2001, the World Health Organization (WHO) especially requisitioned his services as a Consultant who successfully monitored the entire work of relief, rehabilitation and restoration of the health infrastructures.

As the state Forest and Environment Department Principal Secretary, he actively propagated afforestation activities, pollution control, environment and coastal zone regulations, green buildings, eco-industrial parks and evolved a policy for investment in environmental infrastructure and also working towards bio-fuel policy and alternate energy options.

As Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies he launched the fortification and enrichment of foods like wheat flour with iron and folic acid and edible oil with Vitamins A and D. This was followed by the issuance of Roaming Ration Cards for migrant labour. His work in the State Health Department enabled him to evolve the concept of Medical Tourism in Gujarat. This was a first for the state.

As CEO of the Gujarat State Financial Corporation, he played a pivotal role in introducing reforms in financial packages and services for SME funding. Now we know, before “Make in India” became a national priority, he was the father of “Make in Gujarat”.

Dr. Nanda is currently spearheading the Mission “Save Water, Save Electricity and Save Fertilizers”. He has redefined the focus of Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals to provide end-to-end solution to farmers from soil/water/seed testing to tissue culture.

K. M. Chandrasekhar worked in the Indian Administrative Service from 1970 to 2011. During the last four years of his career, he held the highest position achievable in the Indian civil services, that of Union Cabinet Secretary, reporting directly to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After his retirement in 2011, he was offered a position equivalent to Cabinet Minister in his home State, Kerala, as Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, which he held for the next five years until 2016. He has been Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and Finance Secretary in his State Government. In the Ministry of Commerce, he has worked as Chairman of the Spices Board (of which he was founder chairman), as Joint Secretary (Trade Policy Division) in the Ministry and in two diplomatic assignments abroad.[citation needed] He is on the Boards of ten companies, eight of them in the Tata Group and the others in the health care sector. He has been Chairman of the Federal Bank, President of a medical research institute and hospital under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (the Sri Chithra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum) and currently chairs, in an elected capacity, an economic think tank, teaching and research institution, the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is also Honorary Adviser to an Ayurvedic institution, the Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal. His memoirs are awaiting publication with Harper Collins India and he is now working on his second book.

Jawhar Sircar (born 22 March 1952) is a retired Indian Administrative Services officer, who is prominent as a public intellectual, speaker and writer. He has been elected as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament on 2 August 2021 on an AITC ticket to represent State of West Bengal. He served as chief executive officer in Prasar Bharati from 2012 to 2016 and has been a prominent officer of the Indian Administrative Service officer from 1975. He was Secretary to Government of India (2008–12) and has also held important portfolios in the Central and State governments.

P Joy Oommen is a retired member of the Indian Administrative Service. He holds a post graduate with First Class in Economics from University of Kerala . Dr. Jadhav is an Economist, Educationist, Academic, Administrator and a best-selling Author of 41 books in English, Marathi and Hindi. Pradeep Kumar Sinha (born 18 July 1955; IAS is a 1977 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, who was the 31st Cabinet Secretary of India.[2] Prior to this appointment he served as the Power Secretary of India, and was the Shipping Secretary of India before that.

On August 30, 2019 Sinha was appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Prime Minister's Office. And on 11 September 2019, he was appointed as Principal Advisor to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi. He resigned from the aforementioned post on 16 March 2021 citing personal reasons.

Dr. Sudhir Krishna was a member of Indian Administrative Service for 37 years till he superannuated in June 2014 as Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, wherein he steered the various national programmes & policies for planned urban and regional development including the JNNURM and also developed the initial contours of the Smart Cities Mission. He had held various other senior positions in GOI and in the Government of Karnataka. Rt. Hon. Sandip K. Verma, Baroness Verma (born 30 June 1959) known until 1977 as Sandip K. Rana, is an Indian-British politician in the United Kingdom. An appointed member of the House of Lords, she is Ministerial Champion for Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Overseas, a role who chairs the UN Women's national committee. Verma has been the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development, from 2015 to 2016.

Ram Jethmalani was a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sr. Advocate (Supreme Court of India) and an eminent professor of law. He has served as India's Union Law Minister and as Chairman of Bar Council of India. As a lawyer, he has represented a sweep of cases from the high-profile to the controversial for which he has faced both accolades and severe criticism.

Ram Jethmalani, known as a maverick lawyer with many distinctions to his credit, obtained a law degree at an early age of 17 and started practising law in Karachi until the partition of India. Dr. T.K. Prof. (Dr.) Arup Roy Choudhury (born 29 December 1956) is a business executive and professor. He worked as the Chairman & MD of NBCC (National Building Construction Corporation), a Navaratna Central Public Sector Company from 3 April 2001 to 31 August 2010, and as Chairman and MD of NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Company from 1 September 2010 to 31 August 2015. He also held an additional charge of Chairman of DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation), a Company owned by Govt. of India, Govt. of West Bengal, and Govt. of Jharkhand. From 6 October 2015 till 15 Dec 2020 he worked with the Govt. of West Bengal, initially as the Chief Commissioner of West Bengal Right to Public Service Commission, and thereafter as the Principal Advisor Infrastructure to the West Bengal Cabinet. Since 28 Jan 2021, he has joined as Professor of Practice with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Prof. Choudhury holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Post graduation in Management & Systems. He has a Ph. D from IIT Delhi in Project Management, with a special emphasis in Dispute Resolution.

Mr Arvind Jadhav, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1978 batch (Karnataka cadre) today assumed charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL), which runs national carrier Air India.

NACIL was established in 2007 to facilitate the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines, both state-owned national carriers. He was earlier Principal Secretary, Infrastructure Development Department, Government of Karnataka.

Born on June 5, 1956, Mr Jadhav did his post-graduation in Geography after graduating from Kanpur University. He did his MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Curtin, Perth, Australia, where he was awarded Gold Medals for being the 'Best All-round Student' and for attaining distinction in 'Strategic Management'. Mr Jadhav also holds post-graduate diplomas in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion from the Italian Institute of Foreign Trade, Rome.

M.N. Vidyashankar was the principal secretary of e-governance for the state of Karnataka, India. Yash Raj Chopra (27 September 1932 – 21 October 2012) was an Indian film director and film producer who worked in Hindi cinema. The founding chairman of the film production and distribution company Yash Raj Films, Chopra was the recipient of several awards, including 6 National Film Awards and 8 Filmfare Awards. He is considered among the best Indian filmmakers. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001, and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. In 2006 British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented him with a lifetime membership, making him the first Indian to receive the honour.

Mr. Anurag Goel is a career civil servant, who joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1972. He has served in Government of India in 6 Ministries viz. Defense, Home, Civil Aviation, Health, Finance and Corporate Affairs, and held various assignments in Uttar Pradesh including as District Magistrate Kanpur, Director, UP Academy of Administration, Nainital and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, UP (1997- 99). Mr. Goel has a science background, being a gold-medalist in M. Sc. (Physics) from the University of Allahabad. Professor Arun Kumar Rath is an Adjunct Professor in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Area at IIM Nagpur. Prior to this, Dr. Rath was associated with IIM Trichy as Adjunct Professor. Dr. Rath worked as Professor and Dean at IMI New Delhi/Bhubaneswar and also as Chairman, Centre of Excellence in Corporate Governance & Social Responsibility at IMI New Delhi. Prof. Rath worked as Dean & Chairman, Public Policy and Governance at MDI Gurgaon. Before joining MDI Gurgaon, Dr. Rath served as a member of the IAS in the central and state governments in key assignments including Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary Govt. of India and has made significant contributions to Indian administration and corporate governance. Mr. Dharam Vir joined IAS in 1973, after B.Sc. (Hons) Physics in 1969 from IIT Kharagpur, M.Sc. Physics in 1971 from IIT Kanpur & doing research in Physics for 2 years at the same institute. During service, he did MBA from University of Leeds in 1988 under the British Colombo Plan.

He retired as Chief Secretary in State Government of Haryana, India, after working for 36+ years at several positions (Secretary, Director, MD etc.) in government, public sector undertakings, VC of 2 universities & Director of Board of Governors of several educational institutions. Mr. Dharam Vir also attended several in-service training programs in India & abroad, participated in national/international conferences.

Written & published articles on governance, education and science & technology in leading news papers. In 2011, he coauthored a book on IIT Kharagpur, which was released in 2011 by India’s Prime Minister at IITKgp’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations After retirement on Oct 31, 2009, he was appointed State Election Commissioner (Nov. 9, 2009) for a period of five years to supervise and conduct elections to panchayati raj institutions (rural bodies) & municipal bodies. He finally retired in April, 2015.

During 42+ years of service in government & State Election Commission, at operational and policy making positions, he have gained enormous insight in the formulation and execution of public policy, programs & projects, relationship between government and public, etc.

Prodipto Ghosh is involved in research and teaching at the interface of science, economics, philosophy, and public policy. Currently, he is Distinguished Fellow at TERI. He is concurrently member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Cabinet, and Governing Council of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He has earlier been member of the National Security Advisory Board, PMs Council on Climate Change, G 20 Advisory Group of the Ministry of Finance, and the CAGs Audit Advisory Committee. He is Adjunct Faculty at the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh (where he lectures on Indian macroeconomic policy and public finance), TERI University (where he teaches a post-graduate course on Normative Ethics), and Visiting Fellow at the Smith College, Oxford (with whom he is engaged in collaborative policy research).

He was a member of the IAS from 1969 to 2007, when he retired as Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests. He has also held the positions of Economic Advisor and Additional Secretary to the PM, Additional Secretary at the DEA, and Senior Environment Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, Manila. He was a member of India's negotiating team at the UNFCCC climate change negotiations from 2001 to 2012. He is the author of a number of peer reviewed research papers, and several newspaper articles.

He has a Ph.D and M.Phil in Economics and Policy Analysis from the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi, and has received Alumni Achievement Awards from both institutions. He is also the recipient of the BP Pal Centenary Memorial Award.

Mr. R. S. Sharma holds Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Delhi University. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountant of India and an associate member of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He also attended various management programs in India and overseas more specific to Oil and Gas Industry & Management Strategies. Mr. Sharma has over four decades of rich experience in Banking, Finance & Treasury in India and abroad. He had joined Union Bank of India in 1972 with experience in branch banking and specialization in Credit Appraisal. Further, he was the member of middle level finance team of another PSU engaged in construction in roads and bridges in foreign countries, including functioning as Regional Head of Finance for Iraq region from October 1982 to July 1986. He had joined Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) in 1988 and handled various key areas of his expertise like Financial Management, Financial Appraisal, Project Appraisals, Treasury Management at middle and senior level in various Projects as well as the Corporate Office. Further, he had been appointed as Director - Finance of ONGC in 2002 and also headed the additional position of Director - Finance of ONGC Videsh Limited and rose to the position of Chairman & Managing Director of ONGC in May, 2006. He had been a member of various Committees like Search Committee for Selection of Chairman & Members of Competition Commission of India, Committee constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to formulate a Policy Document on Corporate Governance, Chairperson of Quality Review Board, Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Chairperson of expert committee constituted by MCA to examine issues relating to maintenance of Cost Records & Cost Audit. Mr. Arun Balakrishnan is the former Chairman and Managing Director of one of India's largest oil refining and marketing companies - Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) ? a position he has held since April 1, 2007. Prior to this, he held various positions in marketing, corporate, and HR functions across the country, including the Director of Planning, Oil Coordination Committee; General Manager, International Operations; and, Executive Director,Direct Sales.

Jagdish Khattar, a top-rated officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Khattar, who had a BA from Delhi’s St Stephen’s College and a law degree from Delhi University, had started off as a district magistrate in Uttar Pradesh’s Chamoli in 1969. He served as MD of the UP State Industrial Development Corporation, chairman of the Tea Board and CMD of the UP State Cement Corporation before rising to joint secretary at the ministry of steel in the Government of India. “Khattar had done very well in the [IAS], and had industrial experience too, so he was an obvious choice,” Bhargava told INDIA TODAY, remembering the friend and colleague of several years who passed away on April 26 after a cardiac arrest at the age of 78.

He initiated the 50, 000 MW initiative on Hydro Power 2003, and was instrumental in ensuring capacity addition start up of nearly 60, 000 MW between 2007 and 2009 in India.

GAIL marketing director UD Choubey has taken over as the chairman and managing director of the gas PSU. He was heading the marketing division of the company since May 2004, was selected from among half a dozen aspirants to head the gas transmission and distribution utility by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB). The Cabinet Committee of Appointments subsequently ratified the recommendation of the PSEB.

He joined GAIL in 1986 and is a known figure in the natural gas business, is a doctorate in hydrocarbons from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, a post-graduate in chemistry from Patna University, an MBA from Indian Institute of Business Management, Patna and an LLB from the University of Delhi.

Choubey joined GAIL in its formative period and has been associated with the marketing department since then. He was the first director (marketing) of the PSU and was responsible for marketing GAIL's complete range of products and services in the field of natural gas. He has also authored a book, Text Book on Natural Gas, is widely traveled and has represented the country and presented papers at a number of national and international conferences.

Throughout his professional career, He has played a leading role in the development of gas-related policies and is held in high regard by various stakeholders in the natural gas business.

This was followed by a period as CEO at Roche Products Limited after which he moved to Novartis India Limited in 1997. Mr. Shahani is President Emeritus of the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India and President of the Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce India. He is on the Advisory Council of HSPH India Research Centre, Chairman of JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, and Director on the Boards of Hikal Ltd and Ambuja Cements Ltd.

Brij Behari Lal Butail (or BBL Butail) is an Indian Politician from Palampur. He was MLA of Palampur and he was the 12th Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He retired from politics in 2017 and his son Ashish Butail was elected as MLA of Palampur in January 2018.

Dr. Vivek K. Agnihotri is an IAS officer of 1968 batch. He has Master’s degrees in English Literature and Political Science from the University of Allahabad. He has Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis and Design from IIT Delhi. Dr.Agnihotri superannuated as Secretary to Government of India. Post retirement, he was Member of CAT and Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, in the Parliament of India. He is widely travelled and has several publications to his credit.

Navin B Chawla joined the prestigious Indian Administrative Service in 1969. He enjoyed a distinguished 35-year civil service career. He rose to the rank of Special Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forests. He was then appointed Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, before taking on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in 2004. In 2005 he was appointed Election Commissioner. In April 2009, he was appointed a India’s 16th Chief Election Commissioner. During his tenure he successfully completed, to national and international acclaim, the General Elections in April-May 2009.

He was privileged to have a 23-year long association with Mother Teresa. Although not of her faith (she a most devoted Catholic, while he is a practising Hindu), she reposed her confidence in him from the time she met him till the very end). Sanjiv Gupta, 42, an alumnus of IIT Delhi, has had a long and distinguished career in marketing and operations in diverse categories. A chemical engineer, Sanjiv started his professional career with Hindustan Lever Ltd. in 1984 as an Area Sales Manager and moved through successive positions like Brand Manager and Marketing Manager. After HLL, he served a brief stint at ABCL.

Sanjiv joined Coca-Cola India in 1997 as Vice-President Marketing and was instrumental in providing a bold new direction to its marketing campaigns, connecting people in a manner and fashion that identify themselves with the brand specific core message.

Following a successful inning in marketing, Sanjiv took over as Head of Operations for the Company-Owned Bottling Operations in India. He was elevated as the Deputy President of the India Division in April 2002.

During this period, he brought about significant operational improvements at the marketplace, resulting in the company reaching the break-even profit stage in 2001-2 and the India Division receiving the prestigious Woodruff Cup in 2003. He steered the company’s owned bottling as well as franchise operations and led the Indian operations to its present status emerging as the country’s premier total beverage company.

Dr. S.K. Maini is the founder of the Maini Group of industries and over the years has been recognized for his achievements in India and abroad. He was the first Indian to take over MICO-BOSCH factory’s production management from a German Executive in 1968. The Loughborough University honored him with a 'Doctorate in Technology' for his contribution to various industries in India in 2006.

He was also honored ‘Instrumentation Society of India (ISOI) Award' in recognition of his contribution to the development of environment-friendly automotive equipment and leadership in building institutions. Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University conferred the 'Distinguished Alumnus Award' in recognition of Dr. S.K. Maini’s Epoch Making Contribution to the Field of Propagation of Mahamana’s Ideals in 2009.

Associates of IT-BHU Alumni, Delhi conferred the 'IT-BHU Alumni Life Time Achievement Award' in 2009. Dr. S.K. Captain C. P. Krishnan Nair, founder chairman of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, has died aged 92.

He passed away peacefully yesterday with his family beside him and the last rites will be performed today, at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai.

Nair established The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts in 1987 in Mumbai, aged 65. Previously, while in charge of his father-in-law’s handloom business, which he grew into India’s largest garment exporting house, Nair’s frequent business trips exposed him to the world of luxury hospitality.

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts was inspired by his strong belief in India’s ability to compete with the world’s premier travel destinations. He was dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and advancement of tourism in India.

Thottuvelil Krishna Pillai Ayappan Nair (born in 1939) is a career civil servant who formerly served as Adviser to the Prime Minister of India with the rank of the Minister of State. He also previously served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister of India.

He is a 1963 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from Punjab Cadre. He also presently serves as Member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development, Chandigarh. He formerly served as Chairman of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation.

He was an Indian mountaineer. During his career of 45 years, he had made contributions in the fields of adventure, sports, environment, disability and social work.

Following his advanced training at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling, he climbed extensively in Sikkim, Nepal and later he climbed Mount Everest on 29 May 1965. During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, he suffered a bullet injury which resulted in his confinement to a wheelchair. He was the Chairman of Indian Spinal Injuries Centre.

He had written thirteen books which includes his autobiography Higher than Everest, which ran into several editions and languages. Eternal Himalaya, Ladakh-The Hermit Kingdom, Climbing Everest, Faces of Everest, Himalaya, Everest, where Snow Never Melts, Nubra-A Forbidden Valley and the book titled Tracing Marco Polo’s Journey of the Silk Route was recently released.[when?] He had also produced an award-winning serial, Beyond Himalaya, which had been telecast all over the world on Discovery and National Geographic channels.

Mrityunjay Athreya is an Indian author, educationist and management advisor, widely regarded as one of the founders and pioneers of Indian Management movement and education. A former professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, the London Business School and the Strathclyde Business School, Scotland, and a known speaker at various international forums, he is the founder of Sampradaan Indian Centre for Philanthropy, a non-profit non governmental organization, serving as a platform for charity initiatives by high-net-worth individuals.[6] The Government of India honored him, in 2014, by bestowing on him the third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan.

Shri Vinod Kumar Dhall, IAS-MP-1966, took over as Secretary, Department of Company Affairs in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company affairs today. He succeeds Shri V. Govindarajan, who has since been transferred as Secretary, Industrial Policy and Chairman, Foreign Investment Promotion Board in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Earlier, He was Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), Madhya Pradesh. Before that he was Special Secretary (Insurance), Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance. PNB is one of the largest public sector banks in India. During his chairmanship of PNB, he undertook total transformation of the Bank.

Ranjana Kumar (born December 10, 1945) is an Indian banker who served as Vigilance Commissioner in Central Vigilance Commission and Chairperson of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). She had begun her banking career in 1966 as a probationary officer in Bank of India where she served in various positions. When the Government of India appointed her as the Chairperson and managing Director of the Indian Bank, she became the first woman to become head of a public sector bank in India.

Shri I.I.M.S Rana will be the new Chairman of the Railway Board and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India. He will be taking over on 31st of this month from the present Chairman and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India.

Born on 8th June 1943 at Delhi, Shri Rana graduated from the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in 1963 with Honours and was a Silver Medalist. Presently he is serving as Member Engineering, Railway Board.

After a brief stint with IISCO at Burnpur, West Bengal in 1963, Mr. Rana joined Indian Railways in 1964 in the cadre of Indian Railway Service of Engineers after securing the top position in the All Indian Engineering Service Examination.

During his long service career of 37 years, Mr. Rana successfully handled a large number of challenging assignments like Construction of Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala, the largest coach factory of world, in record time of 2 years only, Giddalaur-Nandyal gauge conversion project, Goa gauge conversion project in an extremely tight time schedule and was the Divisional Railway Manager of Danapur Division of Eastern Railway in Bihar for more than 3 years. During his tenure, Danapur Division showed all-round improvement in all spheres. During his tenure as GM, Eastern Railway, the Railway faced the worst ever flood damages. Under his leadership, the officers and staff successfully rescued over 1000 passengers from the marooned Teesta Torsa Express at Swadinpur, which was inundated by flash flood. Rescuing operation was done in almost waist-deep water and flood restoration work was carried out in record time.

Mr. Shahi held the position of Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Power for nearly five years from April 2002 to January 2007. In this position, he was responsible for policy initiatives and implementation for the entire Power Sector (1,68,000 MW capacity) in India. During his tenure, the Indian Power Sector went through a major restructuring with the institution of the Electricity Act, 2003 and subsequent National Electricity Policy, 2005 and National Tariff Policy, 2006. Other major initiatives launched include the Accelerated Power Development & Reform Programme (2002), Rural Electrification Policy (2005), Ultra Mega Power Policy (2006) and Merchant Power Policy (2006). Mr. Shahi was directly responsible for the long-term planning and operational performance of the Central Public Sector Undertakings viz. National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, Bhakra Beas Management Board and Damodar Valley Corporation. He was also President of the Governing Council of Central Power Research Institute, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Chairman of the Governing Council of National Power Training Institute having 5 large Training Institutes in various parts of the country.

Kapil Sibal (born 8 August 1948) is an Indian lawyer and politician. Sibal has represented several high-profile cases in the Supreme Court of India and is widely regarded as one of the famous lawyers of India. He is a Member of Parliament, in Rajya Sabha.

A University of Delhi and Harvard University graduate, Sibal has practiced law in Wall Street and held several important posts relating to law and administration including Additional Solicitor General, and President of Supreme Court Bar Association. Sibal first entered Rajya Sabha in 1998 to represent Bihar. Before that, he had unsuccessfully contested for the Lok Sabha against Sushma Swaraj. He later contested from Chandni Chowk and won in 2004 and 2009.

As a senior Indian National Congress member then, Sibal served under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a minister holding various portfolios over the years. As minister, he headed delegations of India in high-profile international forums. His actions in official capacity were controversial multiple times including when he undertook to regulate internet content. Sibal often was portrayed as an intellectual face of the Congress who batted for the party on television and in regular columns.

In the Supreme Court of India, he usually represented the Congress. He left the Indian National Congress in 2022 to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha independently but backed by Samajwadi Party.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi (born 24 February 1959) is an Indian lawyer and politician. As politician, he is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and a current Member of the Parliament of India representing West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. He is also a spokesperson for the INC.[1] He is one of the senior advocates of the Supreme Court of India.

Vasudevan Suresh is a Civil Engineer from Anna University (College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai) with over 53 years of professional experience in the Housing, Infrastructure, Rural and Urban Development and Built Environment sectors.

Has worked in Tamil Nadu Public Works Department (1 years) and later in Bureau of Indian Standards (12 + years) and was directly associated with the formulation of leading National Standards and Codes and National Building Code, and is Vice Chairman, National Building Code Sectional Committee, and Chairman, Housing, Planning and Prefabricated Construction Sectional Committee of BIS.

He served HUDCO in various capacities for 23+ years and was CMD, till June 2002, during which period HUDCO registered all-round growth in housing and infrastructure finance with innovative options, establishing Housing Retail Finance, development of appropriate technology applications including, National Network of Building Centres, Disaster Mitigation and Rehabilitation Projects and capacity building programmes which has been received well within country and abroad. He was directly involved in HUDCO Techno-Financial assistance and direct implementation projects for Latur, Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Gujarat Earthquakes as well as Orissa Cyclone.

After superannuation from HUDCO, he worked as the Director of HIRCO Project Companies, leading real estate development enterprise dealing with integrated and self-contained townships development.

Vijay Kumar Chaturvedi is an Indian mechanical engineer and a nuclear power expert. He is a former Chairman and Managing Director of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). He did his graduate studies in mechanical engineering at Vikram University- Samrat Ashok Technological Institute in 1965 and secured a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Training School, Trombay.

After superannuating from NPCIL, Chaturvedi joined the Reliance Industries, served in such various capacities as that of a Director of New Power of Reliance Energy Limited, a Non-Executive of Reliance Power Limited, Director of the New Power at Reliance Infrastructure Limited and as a Non-Executive Director of Reliance Infrastructure Limited and serves the company as a member of its various committees.

Chaturvedi is a former member of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and has chaired the Tokyo Centre of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). He has also been a member of the Board of Governors of WANO for two years. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2001.

He was the Chairman and MD from May 2001-2006, ONGC's market capitalisation increased more than 10 times to Rs 200,000 crore, and became the leader among all public and private sector companies in India in terms of networth.

In a strange coincidence, the year Raha was denied an extension as ONGC's boss (in 2006) also saw the company lose its coveted position as the nation's most valuable company.

Manju Sharma (born 13 December 1940) is an Indian bio-technologist and administrator of several scientific research and policy-making bodies in India. She was most recently the president and executive director at the Indian Institute of Advanced Research in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. She earlier served as the secretary, Department of Biotechnology, in the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology,[1] and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2007. Some credit Sharma with pioneering biotechnology research in India. She played a significant role in establishing several institutions in the country, including the National Institute of Immunology, the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, the Biomass Research Centres at Lucknow and Madurai, the Plant Molecular Biology Unit in University of Delhi and the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics.

Dr. S. Narayan, IAS (Retd.) has to his credit nearly four decades (1965 to 2004) of public service in the State and Central Governments, in Development Administration. Lastly (2003-04), he was Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister and was responsible for implementation of economic policies of several Ministries. Prior to this assignment, he was in Government of India as Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary, Secretary in the Departments of Revenue, Petroleum, Industrial Development and Coal, since 1997.

Between 2000 and 2003, he was in the Ministry of Finance with responsibilities for formulation of macro-economic policy for the Government, tariff and taxation policies, as well as initiatives for modernising the capital markets. He was one of the key players in formulating the National Budget between 2000 and 2004.

HE also serves as Director in the Boards of Dabur India Limited, Artemis Global Life Sciences Limited, Rudransh Trading Private Limited, Castlewood Trading Private Limited, IIFL Wealth Finance Limited, IIFL Wealth Management Limited, Shanti Narayan Foundation and Artemis Medicare Services Limited.

MR. YOGENDRA PRASAD assumed the charge of CMD, NHPC on 01st October 1997 and imparted a new direction and dimension not only to NHPC but to the entire hydro sector in the country. I started my career with Bihar State Electricity Board in 1968 and after tenure of 10 years in BSEB, joined NHPC in 1978. Prominent Position held by me during my 27 years long tenure are given below.

Lt. Gen. Surinder Nath, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), is the Vice Chairman, Institute of Directors, India. He is also the former Chairman, Union Public Service Commission, former Vice Chief of Army Staff and has also served on the Board of Larsen and Toubro Ltd. as an Independent Director. In December 2002, he was selected as Chairman of a Study Group constituted by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to review the system of performance appraisal, promotion, empanelment and placement procedures for All India Services i.e. IAS, IPS and IFOS and Group’ A’ services of the Government of India. The recommendations of the Study Group were submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister in July 2003 and have been frequently highlighted in the Media as “Surinder Nath Committee Report”. Most of these recommendations have been accepted by the Government of India and are now under implementation. He was also a member of another Study Group constituted by the PMO in 2006 for designing and planning in-service training for IAS officers at junior, middle and senior level. The recommendations of the Study Group have been accepted and already implemented. Lt. Gen. Surinder Nath is also member of the Advisory Council, VGSOM, IIT, Kharagpur. He completed his M.Sc. in Defence Studies from Madras University and M.A.in International Relations from Allahabad University.

Naresh Goyal (born 29 July 1949) is an non-resident Indian (NRI) businessman and founder Chairman of Jet Airways. He started operating Jet Airways in 1993 with initial seed money from Tail Winds incorporated, Isle of Man. Following the 2005 IPO of Jet Airways, Forbes magazine declared him the 16th richest person in India, with a net worth of US$1.9 billion. He currently does not feature on the Forbes list.

General VP Malik was born on 1st Nov 1939 at Dera Ismail Khan, NWFP, now in Pakistan . Alumni of the National Defence Academy , Khadakwasla and the Indian Military Academy , Dehradun, he was commissioned into 3 SIKH LI on 7th Jun 1959. He commanded Infantry Brigade in Jammu & Kashmir where he was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM).

In Dec 1989, he was appointed General Officer Commanding, Mountain Division and in Aug 1992, he assumed command of Corps in Punjab, where he oversaw anti-militancy operations in the state.

V K Mittal has been appointed as joint managing director of Ispat Industries Ltd. The appointment was approved by shareholders yesterday at the annual general meeting after being put to vote as an ordinary resolution.

Speaking to Business Standard, P K Mittal, vice chairman and managing director of Ispat Industries said that V K Mittal would oversee the company's Mumbai operations and monitor the implementation of its ongoing hot rolled coil project at Dolvi. P K Mittal, himself, will continue to be in charge of supervising the company's overall activities. and expansion in other identified business areas.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) member (personnel and vigilance) Ravi Kant took over as acting chairman of the board recently in a top level reshuffle.

Ravi Kant was the natural choice for the position as he was the senior-most official in the board, second only to outgoing chairman S N Shende who relinquished the post as he went on a deputation to the United Nations. Shende had taken over from Govind K Misra who was posted as advisor, Planning Commission. Shende held the chairmans post for about a month.

Mr B C Bora, a petroleum professional, has been associated with the petroleum sector spanning over a period of more than five decades since he joined the Assam oilfields of Oil India Ltd way back in 1962.

He superannuated from the position of Chairman & Managing Director of ONGC in 2001. Prior to moving to ONGC as the CMD in 1995, he was the CMD of Oil India Ltd from 1992 to 1995. Mr Bora continues to be associated with the Petoleum Industry and has been on the Boards of Governors of quite a few public and private sector companies and educational institutions as non-executive/independent Directors. He is also associated with a number of NGOs and industry bodies connected with the energy sector.

Shri N. Vittal is from the IAS cadre 1960 batch. He has held the appointments of Chairman, Telecom Commission and Secretary, Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board and before retirement his last appointment was Central Vigilance Commissioner.

Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was an Indian aerospace scientist and statesman who served as the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007. He was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was intimately involved in India's civilian space programme and military missile development efforts. He thus came to be known as the Missile Man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. He also played a pivotal organisational, technical, and political role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.
