The world is driven by data and so is every business. With the data and digital revolution come the challenges to maintaining the integrity of the systems which are prone to breach of data privacy & protection. The humungous quantity of data handled is not unique to IT and ITES entities. Each and every business regardless of size operates on one or the other digital platform. Consequently they may become targets for malware or ransom ware besides breach of firewalls. There is also the possibility of breach within when theft of sensitive and confidential data occurs jeopardising the enterprise immeasurably. A Gartner Report, published earlier this year, predicts that data will become central to corporate strategy and data would become a critical asset not just from a business point of view but also as an integral part of the governance obligations of the Boards.
