Dr. Keijo Varis appointed as the Honorary Country Convenor of Finland for the Institute of Directors, India
Dr. Keijo Varis has been appointed as IOD's Honorary Country Convenor for Finland. This appointment was made official at a ceremony hosted by Ms. Tuula Yrjölä, Finland's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, just prior to the IOD's UAE Global Convention on March 4, 2024. Dr. Varis was bestowed with IOD's Life Membership a year ago on April 17, 2023, at Finland's Delhi Embassy, in the esteemed presence of Mrs. Ritva Koukku-Ronde, the Finnish Ambassador to India at that time.
Hailing from Finland, Dr. Varis is a distinguished leader and educator, currently serving as a faculty member at the Turku University of Applied Sciences in Turku, Finland. With a wealth of expertise in management techniques, he holds a Master's degree in Administrative Sciences, as well as an MBA in Finance and Accounting. Dr. Varis is renowned for his strategic acumen and has provided guidance to numerous boards throughout his career. Dr. Varis has served as the Chief Strategy and Risk Management Officer of Vapo Group from 1992 to 2012, in addition to holding the position of CFO at Vapo Timber Oy.
