About the Conclave: |
The National Convention of IOD, India, is it’s annual flagship event i.e. the ‘Annual Directors’ Conclave’. The Conclave is addressed by eminent speakers, including Govt. Secretaries, CEOs and global thought Leaders from different spheres of life, who share their views on current corporate leadership problems, with directors and participants, through interactive sessions.
IOD will be holding its 'Annual Directors' Conclave 2021' from October 06 - 07, 2021 through the digital mode. The theme for the Conclave is ‘Creating a Future-Ready Board for Investment and Inclusive Growth’, and it will focus on current challenges & ways to empower the Boards of Directors.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has led to spawning norms in all quarters, including the corporate boardrooms. A new paradigm of global business has emerged in the rapidly changing global landscape. The transformation required in boards is unprecedented in its intensity, to overcome the current challenges in the operational scene and in the global markets and supply chains.
The Conclave plans to bring together a large number of Business & Industry Leaders, Policymakers, Board Members, Domain Leaders, Corporate Governance Professionals, Senior Executives and also IOD member, on a single global (currently virtual) platform, from across geographies and industries.
It will cover some of the key topics and includes:

Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah

former Chief Justice of India
Hon. Chief Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah is one of the foremost authorities on India’s Constitutional law and human rights and has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian honor, in 2004.
He served as the 25th Chief Justice of India from 1993 to 1994. Post-retirement, he continued working closely with the Government of India and served as the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of India from 1996 to 1998. In 2000, he headed the National Commission to review the working of the Indian Constitution.
He is currently the chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Additionally, he is on the advisory board of the Foundation for Restoration of National Values, a society that strives to restore national and cultural values of India.
Justice Venkatachaliah was conferred the Doctor of Letters by the Pondicherry University and Doctor of Laws (LLD) (both honoris causa) by the Manipal University in 2012 in addition to an honorary doctorate from Rani Channamma University, Belgaum, in 2013.
Mr. Girish Chandra Murmu, IAS

Shri Girish Chandra Murmu assumed office as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on 8th August 2020.
Prior to this, Shri Murmu was the first Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Before moving to Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Murmu served in various capacities in Government of India such as Secretary of the Department of Expenditure, Special and Additional Secretary in the Department of Financial Services and Department of Revenue, and Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure. Before his tenure at the Centre, Shri Murmu has served on important assignments in the State Government of Gujarat. He has wide experience in administrative, economic and infrastructure fields.
Shri Murmu is a postgraduate in Political Science from Utkal University. He holds an MBA degree from the University of Birmingham. He belongs to Indian Administrative Service of Gujarat cadre, 1985 batch.
