Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited is a premier industrial development agency of the Government of Tamil Nadu, established in 1965. TIDCO endeavours to achieve a balanced and continual industrial growth by promoting medium and large industries in the State through Joint Ventures. TIDCO is also the Nodal Agency for the development of various industrial corridor projects in Tamil Nadu.

The Department of Dairy Development in Tamil Nadu was set up in the year 1958. The Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Corporation Limited was formed in July 1972 to manage the activities such as milk procurement, processing and marketing of the milk and milk products. Based on the “Anand” pattern developed by Dr.Kurien, Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation (TCMPF) was formed in February’1981 as an apex body of three tier cooperatives set up in Tamil Nadu and the District level milk producer unions were formed in the year 1982. The Foundation of the Milk Co-operative Movement lies in the conviction that our country’s socio-economic development is intertwined with the development of rural India. Tamil Nadu ranks among the top ten States with a daily milk production of 201 lakh litres per day (LLPD) and fourth among the State Co-operatives with a daily average procurement of 29.46 LLPD in 2017-2018.

The Chennai Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is the third longest metro system in India after Delhi Metro and Hyderabad metro. The system commenced service in 2015 after partially opening the first phase of the project. The network consists of two colour-coded lines covering a length of 54.15 kilometres (33.65 mi). The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture between Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu built and operates the Chennai Metro. The system has a mix of underground and elevated stations and uses standard gauge. The services operate daily between 4:30 and 23:00 with a varying frequency of 5 to 14 minutes.

ill about the middle of 19th century Chennai received water from local shallow wells and tanks.Mr.Fraser, a civil engineer forwarded a proposal to the government to tap the Kortalayar river which is situated about 160 km north west of chennai and it was accepted. The project comprised of a masonry weir across Kortalayar at Tamarapakkam and diverting the water into Cholavaram lake and hence into the Red Hills lake through a channel. The works were completed in 1870 at a cost of about Rs. 18.50 lakhs.In 1872 a Valve House at Red Hills and an earthen Supply channel to supply water to chennai by gravitation was constructed. At Chennai end, the channel delivered water by gravity into a masonry shaft at Kilpauk from which the cast iron mains of the City branched off and a scientifically designed water supply Distribution System was established.

Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited (TANCEM) is a state-government undertaking of Government of Tamil Nadu located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It manufactures cement, AC sheets, hollow blocks, concrete and other building materials.

TANTEA- Tamilnadu Tea Plantation Corporation Limited (an undertaking of the State Government of Tamilnadu, India) A Vision that took root in 1968, to rehabilitate Sri Lankan repatriates trained in the fine art of tea culture. Since then the Company has grown manifold into a multi-million dollar industry and now reaching out to new markets at home and overseas. TANTEA is one of the biggest Black Tea producer in India with high quality clonal tea plantations spread over nearly 4500 ha. in Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts of Tamilnadu and managed by 40 highly qualified professionals, more than 440 supporting staff and nearly 9000 workers. TANTEA produces about 12 million kg of high grown clonal Tea in our eight state of art Tea Factories located within our plantations. About 80% of our production is of CTC Tea and the remaining is Orthodox. One of our orthodox factory has obtained ISO 9001 certification and the same is in process for other factories. We produce OP, BOP, FBOP, BOPF grades among the Orthodox teas and BP, BOPF, BOP, BPSM, RD, PD and SRD grades in CTC teas in large quantities for export.
