It was a pleasure for the Institute of Directors (IOD), India to host a special Welcome Evening Reception for The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli, City of London Corporation, and his delegation during his official visit to India. It was also a special pleasure to welcome Ms. Christina Scott CMG, Minister and British Deputy High Commissioner to India, to the event.
Professor Mainelli is a research scientist in field of aerospace and computing. He served as a Corporate Development Director for Europe's largest R&D firm, the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency. He co-founded Z/Yen in 1994, the City's leading think-tank, promoting societal advance through better finance and technology. In the public sphere, he has served as Alderman for Broad Street in London since 2013 and as the Sheriff of the City of London from 2019 to 2021. Being true to his calling as a practitioner of knowledge and research, Professor Mainelli as the Hon'ble Lord Mayor of the City of London has set his sights on transforming the City of London into a hub for innovation and knowledge.
